Was invited to do a demo at the new Natural Grocery Store in Eugene and it was so much fun!! I prepared recipes using millet, one of the oldest grains on the planet and the 6th most frequently used in the world. You tube video to follow shortly.

Harvesting the last of my garden always makes me a bit sad knowing I will have to jump in my car to go and buy store-bought produce I can’t grow in the winter, like heirlooms, eggplants, peppers to name a few.  Check out the red pepper and baby eggplants!  I am so proud of my pepper because it’s one of the biggest, prettiest peppers I’ve yet to grow.

I had the BEST time this past Saturday, not only doing a demo at the Greenway Whole Foods, but meeting other creative and passionate local vendors trying to do their thing very right for the rest of us.  So nice meeting Jessica with her Kombucha line, Sasha sampling Sarah’s ALMA Chocolate toffee, Cole with his smooth cold-brewed coffee, Justin who is 4th generation in his family’s cranberry business, Ray with the best smoked salmon anywhere, Doug and Renee with their seasoned nut line, and many others too numerous to name but equally as delicious and passionate and LOCAL!!! Get out there and eat/drink your way through this state, patronize these artisans (and me!) and thank your lucky stars that we don’t have to go far to ‘feed our bodies or souls’.
